Blocking of unauthorized Starlink terminals in Ukraine has begun (updated)
Mass blocking of Starlink terminals has been recorded in Ukraine. The enemy and Z-publics are in panic. But many Ukrainians have also lost access to the Internet…
On February 4, 2026, approximately at 20:00 Kyiv time, messages began to appear from Starlink users in Ukraine regarding the blocking of their accounts and/or connections. In particular, such messages appeared in the largest community in Ukraine, “Narodnyi Starlink”.
Subsequently, similar complaints appeared from Z-publics, who complained about the collapse of communications in the occupation forces of the aggressor country.
Given the unprecedentedly rapidly implemented regulations by the Ukrainian government, which SkyLinker has already written about, this looks like a step towards implementing the intentions of depriving the aggressor of the opportunity to use Starlink satellite communications on the territory of Ukraine.
Such events were led by the systematic and massive use of Starlink by the Russian military not only on various drones, but also in all occupied territories.
Apparently, a large part of the Starlink terminals that have not yet been submitted for verification have been blocked on a large scale. However, it is not possible to assess the scale of the consequences at this time.
SkyLinker will closely monitor the development of the situation and write about changes and new events.
Updates:
At 11:46 Kyiv time, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov posted a message on his Telegram channel:
Starlinks included in the “white list” are working — Russian terminals have already been blocked
We continue to verify Starlink terminals. The first batch of terminals that were included in the “white list” is already working.
Currently, the “white lists” are updated once a day. If you have submitted your terminal for registration, but it is not working yet — it is worth waiting. This is a very large-scale process that takes time. In parallel, we are already working to ensure that the data is received for verification in real time.
Civilians need to verify their Starlinks through the Central Administrative Center. For legal entities, the corresponding service will soon be available on the Diya portal.
Our team, together with partners, is promptly processing all cases. Thank you to the military and commanders who promptly verified their terminals. Continuity and stability of communications are critically important for the front.
At 14:41 Kyiv time, Elon Musk also published a message about the importance of verifying Starlink terminals for Ukrainians.
How Serious Are the Real Problems with Starlink and Other Operators in Ukraine?
The issue of Starlink being used by Russian forces is, in reality, far broader and more complex than it is usually presented in typical media coverage. And it truly requires an urgent solution. Moreover, this is no longer a Starlink-only problem. Why? Let’s try to break it down—and at the same time understand what can be done about it.
Starlink on Russian Drones: How Ukraine Can Protect Its SatCom Domain?
The rapid deployment of Starlink satellite communications in Ukraine in 2022 became possible, among other factors, due to the maximum simplification of telecommunications regulations. More than three years have passed. The situation has changed dramatically: the armed forces of the aggressor state are now beginning to use Starlink systematically and at …
Starlink in Ukraine – a New Story of Protecting SatCom Sovereignty
Ukraine has introduced a number of restrictions on the use of Starlink satellite communications on its territory. On January 29, the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, officially announced his request to SpaceX regarding solving the
Starlink 2025–2026: The Path to Global Hegemony
The year 2025 became the moment when Starlink finally established itself not merely as “the largest satellite constellation in the world”, but as a global communications infrastructure system. No longer a startup, not an experiment, not an “alternative for remote areas”
Starlink Onboard Terminals - Ukrainian Engineering Experience
Starlink satellite terminals are a high-tech system that is actively used in many mobile solutions, including all types of drones (UAV, USV, UGV). Maintaining stable communication while moving is quite a challenging task. Starlink developers not only incorporated the relevant functionality into their system during the development stage. They actually performed a gigantic amount of engineering work. But their high-tech result still has certain features and limitations.
